Walt Disney opens the first ever Disneyland. He bought the the land for 17 million dollars in Anaheim California. On the first day it was opened only special guests were invited and the next day it was opened to the public. The land was a total of 160 acres. The original park included Main Street, Adventureland, Frontierland, Fantasyland, and Tomorrowland. It was a big success.

Rosa Parks was a very brave and courageous woman. She stood up for what she believed in. December 1, 1955 she decided no to give up her seat to a white man and was arrested. She was fined for breaking the laws of segregation. Her act of bravery gave birth to the Montgomery Bus Boycott. It was a major stepping stone to the end of segregation.
