July 20, 1969 the greatest achievement for our country was made. Neil Armstrong became the first man on the moon. Buzz Aldrin was the second. They planted an American Flag on the moon and it made everyone in the country very proud to be American. People all over the world saw Aldrin and Armstrong walking on the moon on their televisions. It was an amazing moment in history.
March 28, 1969 was the day a great president passed away. President Eisenhower died at Walter Reed Army Hospital. He died due to heart illness. The funeral was held in the capital of the nation. As well as that a military funeral was held at Abilene, Kansas. He was a great president and will always be remembered.
